I'm Marwan Hassan, a Construction Engineering student who was born and raised in Egypt. Choosing Construction as my major was due to my love of seeing my work help other people while volunteering building roofs on houses on trips as a teenager. My favorite course so far has been geotechnical engineering, which I also help with at the tutor center, because my professor teaches it (Dr. Shahrzad Roshankhah). My hobbies include working out, reading and travelling to learn about all kinds of cultures.

Verl Grant
Ever since I was a young boy making stick houses for bugs in my backyard I knew I wanted to become someone who would build and create new structures. I chose the Civil Engineering program for a way to start my journey as a Professional Engineer and gain a better understanding of the world around us. I am now in my senior year here at the University of Utah and my favorite class has definitely been structural analysis. This class gave me a glimpse of what it will be like working in the industry and inspired me to take structural analysis 2 where I was able to create a strong relationship with Dr. Zhu and actually ended up doing some undergraduate research with him during the summer of 2023.

Antonio Cabello
My name is Antonio Cabello and I am a Civil Engineering student with an emphasis in transportation. I chose Civil Engineering as my major because I believe it is the most effective way to change our local neighborhoods for the better. Through improving the designs of the roads and bridges we use every day, we can reach a better future for everyone! My favorite class at the U has been Statics (CVEEN 2010) for its thoroughness in explaining the fundamental math behind everything an engineer does.
