Convocation Ceremonies

Below you will find information on the Commencement and Convocation Ceremonies. More information can be found on commencement at the Registrars website and for convocation it can be found on the College of Engineering website.
Commencement
Commencement is held at 9:00 a.m. in the Jon M. Huntsman Center. This year's featured speaker is acclaimed author, David McCullough. At the end of the commencement ceremony degrees are conferred en masse by University of Utah President Michael K. Young.
If you will be attending the commencement ceremonies you will need to be in you cap and gown by 8am in the parking lot south of Milton Bennion Hall. The procession into the Huntsman Center will begin at 8:20am. For more specific information on how you file in & rainy day plans go here.
Convocation
Convocation will start at 4:15pm at the Huntsman Center. Graduates need to be on the west side of the Huntsman Center by the tunnel entrance, beginning at 3:15pm (students will begin marching into the Huntsman Center no later than 4pm). You will need to find the Civil & Environmental Engineering marker and get your reader card from a Department representative. For more information on parking, photographs & rainy day plans go here.
