Personal Sketch
Dr. Reaveley received his B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Utah in 1963, his M. Sc. from the University of Utah in 1964 and his Ph.D. from the University of New Mexico in 1971. From 1974-1993 he was Vice President of Reaveley Engineering, Inc. in Salt Lake City , UT. He was an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering of the University of Utah from 1975 until 1993. He has been a Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering of the University of Utah since 1991, and served as Department Chair from 1993 to 2006. Dr. Reaveley is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of New Mexico.
Research Areas
Dr. Reaveley's research interests include structural engineering, structural dynamics as applied to building systems with emphasis on earthquake engineering, vibration problems, and seismic rehabilitation methodologies.
