Dr. Glenn Johnson received his M.S. in Geology from the University of Delaware and his Ph.D. in Geology from the University of South Carolina. Both degrees focused on application of multivariate statistical/pattern recognition techniques to geological/geochemical data. Dr Johnson has 20 years experience in the application of these methods in various disciplines: including environmental geochemistry, petroleum geochemistry, remote sensing, micropaleontology, and petrophysics. For seven years, Dr. Johnson worked as an environmental scientist with Roux Associates and McLaren/Hart Environmental Engineering. His experience there included chemical fingerprinting of chlorinated organic compounds, litigation support, environmental forensics, and environmental assessment at industrial and hazardous waste sites. Dr. Johnson came to the University of Utah in 1995 He is Research Associate Professor at the Energy and Geoscience Institute, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. He continues research in development and application of chemometric methods in environmental chemistry, and environmental forensics studies involving persistent organic pollutants. |
